The medical group works to improve access to mental health services in West Tennessee

JACKSON, Tennessee – An organization is expanding its services and resources throughout West Tennessee.

LifeWorks Resources, LLC is working hard to improve access to psychological counseling and treatment.

Jackson, as well as other surrounding areas, have been designated as areas with a shortage of psychiatrists.

The company recently hired a physician assistant capable of prescribing psychiatric drugs.

President Mark Baldwin says there is no one-size-fits-all way to address mental health issues.

According to Baldwin, COVID-19 has highlighted the need for more services and resources in our communities.

“We’ve seen increases in depression, anxiety, social isolation and all of those things,” Baldwin said. “And then the economic impact is also having an impact on our mental health and a number of stressors that people are struggling with, so there’s a huge need in the community right now.”

According to Baldwin, the goal is to bridge the gap between those who need mental health support and the resources provided.

LifeWorks Resources wants to reach as many people as possible and help them on their journey.
