NEW YORK (PRWEB) September 30, 2021

NFP, a leading insurance broker and advisor offering property and casualty insurance (P&C), corporate benefits, retirement planning and customized solutions, announced today Doug Hammond, its Chairman and CEO, has joined the CEO Disability Work Commission. The mission of the organization founded by The National Down Syndrome Society, Voya Financial, and the Society for human resource management (SHRM) aims to raise awareness of the untapped potential of people with disabilities and to work to ensure that people with disabilities receive and receive equal access to meaningful employment.

“I joined the CEO Commission because I share their vision to remove barriers to equal employment and to actively work to tackle unemployment and underemployment among people with disabilities,” said Hammond. “With only 17.5% of people with disabilities employed, we have a great opportunity to connect with this pool of talented people, introduce them to our organizations, and create ways to benefit from their contributions.”

“Our partnership with the CEO Commission is just one of the programs that support our focus on improving a workplace dedicated to diversity, equality, inclusion and inclusion,” added Pamela Wheeler, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at NFP. “It starts with realizing that everyone can play their part and continues with empowering senior management within the NFP to create opportunities that are in line with the Commission’s objectives.”

“When companies look at their bottom line, involving more people with disabilities not only makes good business sense, it also provides opportunities for more people,” said Kandi Pickard, The National Down Syndrome Society President and CEO.
