Appalachian Regional Healthcare acquires Hall Regional Medical of Paintsville
PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Appalachian Regional Healthcare announced Thursday that it has signed an agreement to acquire Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
The Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center will become part of ARH’s local care system in southeast Kentucky.
The purchase is expected to be completed within the next 70 days, subject to customary approvals and closing conditions, with ARH taking over day-to-day operations on December 1st.

Paul B. Hall is a 72-bed acute care hospital in Paintsville with medical staff representing a variety of specialties including surgery, neurology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, cardiology, radiology, urology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
The hospital has been named a Joint Commission Top Performer for four consecutive years. Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center is directly or indirectly owned by a partnership that proudly includes medical owners, including certain members of the hospital’s medical staff.
