AMARILLO, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) – The following is a press release from the Amarillo VA Health Care Systems:

As of Monday, September 27th, the Amarillo VA Health Care System has changed its visiting policy to allow visits under certain circumstances as stated below:

Stationary units:
– 1 visitor at the same time
– Must use the main lobby
– Visiting times 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
– Nobody under the age of 18

emergency department:
– 1 visitor at the same time in the examination room (non-COVID patients)
– Visitors are not allowed to be in the waiting room

Outpatient services:
– Encouraged to participate unaccompanied
– The nursing staff can accompany the patient
– An accompanying person for day surgery and endo

Veterans with questions about the visit can call 806-355-9703 and press option 2. The Amarillo VA Health Care System will continue to evaluate visiting policies as conditions change.
